Passport to the World

As part of our topic for ‘Passport to the World’ we looked at the continents and made landmark models to represent these. We then voted which continent we would like our Flat Stanley adventure story to be based in. North America won so we began to research this continent in more detail.  We looked at the language and noted that there are differences in words and spelling as they speak American-English. We also spent time learning about their money, climate and food choices.

Over half term the children took Flat Stanley with them on their travels or sent him to visit people. Our Flat Stanley’s visited lots of different places in both the UK and around the globe, even travelling as far as America and Australia!

The children also recreated famous landmarks for their homework.

On the last day, the children tried hot dogs with mustard. Some children were more keen than others!
