Spring Term in Class 4M

Awesome Archaeology!

This term, our topic is Awesome Archaeology!

As part of this topic, we have been studying the history of the Romans and what artefacts can tell us about the past.

In science, we have been rock detectives! So far, we have studied rock formations, experimented on different types of rocks, fossils and the work of Mary Anning. Even our parents have become involved by fossil hunting and gathering artefacts.

In literacy, we have been exploring life as a Roman soldier through diaries. We enjoyed our Roman soldier day, where real Roman soldiers came to our school!

In mathematics, we have been developing our reasoning through the maths no problem programme. We love exploring using the equipment and discussing our understanding. In addition, we have been making clocks and using Roman numerals.

The Tablesmaster competition is well underway across school. We are competing against other classes to record the fastest times on our times tables. We love singing times tables songs and earning awards.

Home Learning

Finally, the home learning that is coming in is fantastic! Jack has made an amazing shield, Colosseum and mosaic with the help of his parents. Our class talents are broad and rich as so far we've had archaeological dig cakes, reports, timelines, Roman structures, stitch work and much more!
