Egyptian Artwork

We had a fantastic time making some Egyptian headdresses this week. The children designed their own Egyptian headdress and then added patterns, textures and colours based on what the Egyptians believed they represented. We used a wide range of materials including paint, tissue paper and lots of sequins!

We also made some Egyptian sunset pictures! We started by planning the colours to use for our sunsets. We talked like real artists, discussing the colour wheel and choosing colours based on which ones work well together. We the children blended paints together to create a gradient and make the sunset background. Then, they cut shapes out of black sugar paper to make the silhouettes in the foreground. The pieces are going to be put up on a display in the classroom and some are even going to be up in the corridor!
