Free School Meals
Are you on a low income or benefits and have children at school?
You could be eligible for free, tasty school meals for your children.
You are entitled to Free School Meals for your child if you or your partner gets either:
- Income Support.
- Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- The Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit, provided they are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual income of £16,190 or less, as assessed by Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs
Where a parent is entitled to Working Tax Credit during the four-week period immediately after their employment ceases, or after they start to work less than 16 hours per week, their children are entitled to free school lunches. Children who receive a qualifying benefit in their own right are also eligible to receive Free School Meals.
Please take a few minutes to log on to our free school meals checking service at www.myfreeschoolmeals.com Even if you do not think you are eligible we would encourage you to check as parents and carers who have a statutory entitlement to free school meals will qualify the academy to receive £1,300 per year for every child.
This money is used to support the education of all pupils by funding vital intervention work to help Lisle pupils achieve their full potential. It is also used to support eligible families with paying for uniform, school trips, music lessons, residential visits and after school clubs.
Even if your personal circumstances change the academy retains the annual sum to educationally support your child throughout their years at Lisle. That could amount to over £9,000 per child, money that the academy cannot afford to lose.
