In 2D, we have been trying really hard to learn our 2, 5 and 10 times tables. There is a pass code on our door so we practise every time we enter or leave the room. We even know that we can use facts for the tables we know to help us find facts for tables we don’t know because multiplication is commutative. That means that you can switch the numbers around and still get the same answer. So, we can work out that 5 x 7 = 35 because we already know that 7 x 5 = 35.
We also made some fact family flowers to help us learn related division facts. So, if we know that 7 x 5 = 35, we also know that 35 ÷ 5 = 7 and 35 ÷ 7 = 5. We were absolutely delighted to find out that our hard work had paid off when we were named Times Tables Champions for Spring Term 1. Well done everyone in 2D!
