Egypt- A World of Wonders
Throughout the Autumn term year 4 have been exploring Ancient Egypt focusing on its geographical and historical significance in our World. Our Sparkling Start afternoon challenged the children to use Egyptian Hieroglyphs to work out a variety of Egyptian God names and key words. Children designed their own names in Egyptian Hieroglyphics which are proudly displayed on our topic board. Over the next few weeks, children will learn about the Continents and Oceans of the world, as well as the geographical location of Egypt and why the River Nile is so essential to life in Egypt. The children will also write a piece of descriptive writing based on Tadeo Jones, an explorer who visits an Egyptian tomb and discovers millions of glittering golden coins.
