Year 6 Colour Run

On Monday 9th March 6B took part in a Colour Run to celebrate the Hindu festival of Holi, which was celebrated throughout the world on that day.

Holi is sometimes called the “festival of love” as on this day people get to unite together forgetting all resentments and all types of bad feeling towards each other. It is also known as the festival of colours as it is the most vibrant of all Hindu festivals, it marks the end of winter in India and welcomes the spring. On this festive day, people play with colour and create new beginnings with each other.

For our colour run, we invited parents to join us, this took place on the school field.  With the help of Miss Lingard an obstacle course including hurdles, zig zag cones and a net was set up for the enjoyment of everyone taking part. As children and parents passed by, different staff members threw different coloured powders at the participants. Some were covered more than others. We had such a great time celebrating Holi! Thank You for everyone who took part.
