Passport to the World
A Sparkling Summer Start
3J are off to a sparkling summer start!
In years 3 and 4 our theme for the next half term is ‘Passport to the World’. For our sparkling start we looked at the 7 wonders of the new world. We started off with a list of 25 monuments and places of wonder from around the globe. The children then worked in their groups to narrow them down to their favourite 7. All the groups chose different ones, with the most popular being the Grand Canyon, which was chosen by 4 out of the 5 groups.
During the afternoon the children sketched and painted their favourite wonder of the world.
As part of our topic we will be reading and discovering the world of Flat Stanley. Over half term the children took Flat Stanley with them or sent him to visit people in other places. Our Flat Stanley’s visited lots of different places in both the UK and around the globe, even travelling as far as Canada and Australia as well as holidaying in Dubai! Lucky Stanley.
Watch out for more adventures throughout the term.
