Penguin Small

In PE this term, we have been learning to Dance. We have been thinking about different types of animals and the ways in which they move. We listened to part of the story of Penguin Small about a baby penguin who is afraid of the water and does not know how to join in with the rest of his Penguin friends. We came up with different movements which explored the way he was feeling in the story. We had to have a start position, three different dance moves and then an end position.

We have also been working as a group to create and perform a penguin dance. Take a look at the pictures and see if you can spot the different movements we carried out.

Learning dance has also helped us to understand the beat and pace of music as we have been counting to 8 for each movement in the sequence. Next week, we will be putting our performance to music!
