In our DT lessons, we have been exploring air resistance and the purpose of different modes of transport in our world. Firstly, we learnt about what air resistance is and how it can increase and decrease. We then designed our own car chassis, carefully assembling the wheels, frame and launch mechanism. Once our car chassis was constructed, we designed the nets for the top and side panels of our car. Finally, we carefully cut out panel nets and attached them to our car chassis using a glue gun. We completed an evaluation sheet, considering the positives and negatives of our car designs and we were able to complete time trials where we raced our cars against one another. Here are some of our wonderful car designs.
