During our collective worship time, we have discussed and learnt about Harvest. We thought deeply about what the supermarkets were like during the pandemic and who were the people that helped to keep us fed and safe throughout our lockdown.
From this we created Harvest poems and songs to celebrate Harvest coming around again and to thank those who ensured we were fed, such as the farmers, butchers, bakers, supermarket workers, delivery drivers and factory workers. We shared what we had created in our weekly collective worship.
We then brought in food to be donated to CARE (Christian Action Resource Enterprise), a local charity that supports local families and individuals in times of crisis. Also, we took part in ‘socktober’ in which we donated socks to ‘Harbour Place’, who supports the homeless.
