World Space Week

It was World Space Week this week and therefore we held a space afternoon in school. All of the children from each class looked at different aspects of space. We explored the transition between night and day with an interesting time lapse video. As a class, we discussed what was happening and came up with a word bank to describe what we had seen.

We moved on to look at The Solar System and learnt about the order of the planets using fruits and vegetables to represent each planet. The children were amazed at the size of the planets in relation to Earth. We finished the afternoon exploring ideas around the odd one out of three similar celestial objects. It was a great afternoon exploring space!
