Armley Mills

As an introduction to our new topic ‘Now and Then’, we visited Armley Mills, where we experienced what it would have been like to be a Victorian child. First, we were given jobs by the Gaffer (who was very mean!), and learnt how difficult and dangerous it would have been to work in the mill. Then we stepped back in time and entered the Victorian school room, where Ma’am soon put us in our places! Whist there, we also got the opportunity to see the differences between how the rich and the poor would have lived. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and learnt a lot about life back then.
