6D Freeze Frames

As part of our ‘Now and Then’ thematic learning we have been finding out about the lives of Dr Barnardo and Lord Shaftesbury.  We have spent time investigating the work that they did to change the lives of Victorian children.  They both worked with passion and determination to ensure that children’s working hours were reduced and that they had the opportunity to an education.

We have worked in groups to create freeze frames to show parts of their lives.  Many of us recreated moments when children were cold, hungry and scared while others focused on the Ragged Schools or the events that followed a boy being refused a space in a Home for Boys.

We continue to find out about these two key figures as we consider which one of them had the most impact on the lives of children in Victorian Britain.
